The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts or components for electronic equipment and other hardware systems for high speed automated assembly equipment.The Electrical Engineer determines design approaches and parameters and analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. The Electrical Engineer selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability for high speed automated equipment. This position supports all aspects of electrical power development from determination of needs and requirements through fulfillment of function machine solutions and designs, details and builds automation electrical systems to support the engineering effort.
Essential Job Functions:
·Design, update and implement electrical power applications for medium & high voltage systems, including facilities and equipment power supply and distribution.·Compliance with all code for electrical power ·Utilize computer aided engineering design and analysis software in the proper design, selection and application of electrical components.·Identify required resources and anticipate schedule requirements to meet program objectives·Perform risk analysis and develop proof of concept models and tests to validate system designs·Evaluates and directs conceptual and detailed design activities on assigned projects.
.·Supports the drafting of operations manuals, procedures and instructions and may train operations and maintenance personnel.
Education/Experience Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, MSEE preferred.Minimum of 7 years of industry experience design, development, and implementation of power systems.Extensive knowledge and experience in CAD for electronic layout wiring of automated equipment.Understanding of automation methods such as part transfer and fixturing, process tooling, pneumatics, lead screws, cam devices, stepper/servo motors, drive systems, slide systems, sensor technologies and application, and machine power distribution.PC literate in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
